New Lupus LA Entertainment Industry Board Members Make Headlines

Industry Executives Lauren Shuler Donner and Nancy Utley Named Board Members for Lupus LA

LOS ANGELES (March 14, 2012) – Lupus LA announced the appointment of acclaimed film producer, Lauren Shuler Donner and president of Fox Searchlight Pictures, Nancy Utley as their newest council members. The non-profit is expanding its’ already prominent group of supporters, and also recently welcomed singer Toni Braxton to the board. As board members they will help lead efforts on behalf of the organization, which include: promoting lupus research, awareness, education, patient services, and new member outreach.

Donner, whose producer credits include the X-Men franchise, The Secret Life of Bees, and You’ve Got Mail, among many others, has received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and a Women In Film Crystal Award for her outstanding achievements. Utley was appointed to president of Fox Searchlight Pictures in 2009, managing all aspects of the company including production, acquisitions, marketing and distribution alongside fellow President Stephen Gilula. She has overseen some of Fox Searchlight’s most successful films such as the Academy Award nominated The Descendants and Black Swan, Academy Award winner for Best Picture Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours, and countless others.
