Spread The Word

Raising awareness is an important part of the Lupus LA mission. While lupus is widespread, awareness and accurate knowledge about it are lacking. Research shows that although 1.5 million people in the U.S. have lupus, nearly two-thirds of the public knows little or nothing about the disease. In fact, more Americans have lupus than AIDS, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, sickle-cell anemia and cystic fibrosis, making it one of this country’s most prevalent medical problems. In Los Angeles County alone, there are over 60,000 people suffering from lupus.

Lupus LA raises awareness through extensive media coverage of our events and our Ambassador Program. Media coverage spans local, regional and national markets in print and on TV, radio, and the Internet. Our widespread media coverage is made possible through our ties with the Hollywood community of both celebrities and industry executives.

The Lupus LA Ambassador Program brings together celebrities from every arena who are passionate about promoting lupus awareness and Lupus LA. By creating an official celebrity Ambassador Program, Lupus LA is taking a vital step toward improving lupus awareness nationwide. To learn more about our Ambassador program, click here.

But Remember – We Can’t Do It Alone
