During the weekend of March 13-14, 2015, members of Team Lupus LA participated in the ASICS LA Marathon and LA BIG 5K. Team Lupus LA had over 130 members, and raised over $95,000 – the highest amount raised by the team to date! The team included a few celebrity faces, including Brett Dier from Jane the Virgin, Kristen Renton from Sons of Anarchy, Santana Dempsey from Newsroom, and Josh Brener from Silicon Valley. On the day of the marathon, over thirty volunteers from local high school Interact clubs, helped cheer on runners. Sponsors: Rotary Club of Beverly Hills, Hint Water, and Fenix Cosmetics.
On June 6, 2015 guests gathered at the famed New York Street set at Fox Studios to celebrate the Orange Ball: A Night of Superheroes. The evening was hosted by comedian Michael Yo, with entertainment by Serayah and Seal. Lupus LA was proud to honor Michael B. Jordan with the Loop Award, Michelle and Alan Kaye with the Daniel J. On September 16, 2015, supporters of Lupus LA went all-in for a cure at the Avalon Hollywood at the 7th Annual Get Lucky for Lupus LA celebrity poker tournament and party! In addition to an exciting celebrity poker tournament, guests enjoyed an excellent silent auction, music by DJ KimKat, and desserts donated by Lovesome. The evening was hosted by Cheryl Burke and Lupus LA Ambassador Mekhi Phifer. Lupus LA honored The Winterstern Family with the Ace Award. On November 20, 2015 guests were treated to Lupus LA’s largest silent auction of designer handbags to date. Donors included Roberto Cavalli, Jake Gyllenhaal, Reese Witherspoon, Tom Ford, Prada, Bally, and more. The luncheon was hosted by Lupus LA Ambassador Terri Seymour. Guests also enjoyed an exclusive Ted Baker fashion show and a live auction hosted by Jenni Pulos. Lupus LA was proud to honor Danielle Claman Gelber and Eve Somer Gerber with Woman of Achievement awards and Peri Ellen Berne with the Adam Selkowitz Outstanding Volunteer Award.
