On November 17, 2017, fashion lovers joined us at The Beverly Hilton for the 15th Annual Hollywood Bag Ladies Luncheon, hosted by Paula Abdul. Lupus LA was proud to honor two amazing women with the Woman of Achievement Award, Cara Dellaverson and Emily V. Gordon. This year we were thrilled to once again partner with Roberto Cavalli. They provided a stunning fashion presentation in the silent auction and an exclusive show during the luncheon. Over $320,000 was raised at this special event, including $31,000 in the live auction and $62,000 in the silent handbag auction.
Lupus LA Ambassador Michael B. Jordan hosted the inaugural MBJAM on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey. Co-hosted by Los Angeles Clipper Blake Griffin and featuring special guest MC Terrence J, MBJAM gave families the chance to enjoy a ‘courtside carnival’ filled with basketball, games, and food, all for a great cause.
SwimaTun for Lupus was created by Natalie Tun to bring awareness for lupus, eradicate misconceptions surrounding the disease, and raise funds for Lupus LA. This year’s event, held on May 7, raised over $15,000 for Lupus LA and we are proud to have SwimaTun for Lupus as part of our GO Team events program!
Over 400 guests joined us underneath the space shuttle Endeavour on April 22 for the 2017 Orange Ball: Rocket to a Cure. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and supporters, the event raised over $650,000 for Lupus LA!
On March 4, Team Lupus LA joined in the Lupus Research Alliance Walk With Us to Cure Lupus. We had a team of over 140 walkers who joined us for a special evening of camaraderie and support, including many new team members.
